(Wenatchee, WA) Caffé Mela will open its doors once again to LAPH Productions monthly Comedy Showcase on Thursday, December 5th, with two Seattle-natives, headliner Derek Sheen and feature Mike Coletta. The last comedy show produced at Caffé Mela took place on Halloween Night and was received with a warm and energetic response. LAPH Pro hopes to build on the success of last month’s show with Sheen whose story-based, self-depreciating humor has been compared to the likes of Louis C.K. and George Carlin.

Sheen has been a featured performer at the Bridgetown, Cape Fear and San Francisco Sketchfest Comedy Festivals. He has toured with Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Janeane Garofolo and Rory Scovel (coming to the Wenatchee Comedy Festival this April).

Sheen will be performing at 8:00pm, Thursday night at Caffé Mela and 9:00pm, Friday at the Clearwater Steakhouse. Advanced tickets are available at events.caffemela.com.

Reviews of Derek Sheen:

“Derek Sheen has the uncanny ability to take mundane events and turn them into over-the-top comedy.” –PASTE Magazine

”With Sheen, you never quite know what’s around the corner and that’s a good thing. He has a passion that is reminiscent of Lewis Black and his references will keep you on your toes.” – Comedy-Reviews.com

“When Sheen’s at his best, he’s firing everything off with nuanced diction and rhythmical precision. He develops a Carlin-esque pace to his speech that only serves to amplify the already-high level of laughs.” – Daniel Berkowitz of TheSpitTake-Comedynews.org
