Betty “Anne” Lassiter

Mansfield, WA

Betty “Anne” Lassiter, 88, a longtime resident of Mansfield, WA, passed away May 16, 2012, after an extended illness. She was born in Berrien Springs, MI on July 7, 1923. She later moved to Seattle, WA in 1949, and worked as a practical nurse. She also modeled for the Bon-Marche and did political cartooning for the Seattle PI. She later moved to Eastern Washington and met and married Tom Lassiter. She pursued her love of art and studied under Walter Graham, drawing and painting. She enjoyed poetry, reading, music, and family, she also loved nature, gardening, and animals and birds.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Lassiter of Mansfield; sister, Paula Wells of Mishawaka, IN; children, Helen and Lou Ray of South Bend, IN, Phillip Steyaert of South Bend, IN, Tommy Williams of Tacoma, WA and Paula Lassiter of Arlington, WA; grandchildren, Holly Hamilton, Christy Jones, Rod Jones, Mike Jones, Mark Jones and many other grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by three sons, Rod Jones, Mike Jones and Dan Morgan; two sisters, Jean Hamilton and Doris Hamilton; and parents, Phillip and Bertha Hamilton.

A special thank you given to all the medical staff involved in her care from Wenatchee Valley Clinic and Central Washington Hospital, ICU, PCU, and Medical Floor.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Telford’s Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee, with Viewing from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Arrangements by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley.
