On Tuesday, July 3rd at approximately 4:00 PM Douglas County Deputies received an anonymous tip that a suspect wanted in connection with several burglaries in the Bridgeport area was at a restaurant in Bridgeport.  The suspect, 25 year old Jesse Raphael Garsia of Bridgeport, saw a Deputy approaching the restaurant and fled on foot.  The suspect ran into a nearby apartment and escaped out a window.

His girlfriend, 24 year old Melissa Ann Casarez of Bridgeport, lied to Deputies about Garsia’s whereabouts and hindered their investigation.   Later, Casarez went back to the restaurant and threatened the owners because she felt they had called the police.  The owners had not made the original call, but did report the threats.  When Deputies attempted to arrest her she resisted but there were no injuries.  She was charged with rendering criminal assistance 2nd degree, harassment, and obstructing.  She was booked into the Okanogan County Jail.  Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jesse Garsia is asked to contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office immediately.
