Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ron Skagen, Jim Davis and Lynn Heminger executed the following actions during the October 8, 2012 Commission meeting held at the District’s Bridgeport office:
Approved change order No. 1 to contract 12-13-D, construct Rapids Switchyard expansion. This will change the fence curb dimension and add a carrier pipe under the driveway at a cost of $2,358 bringing the total not to exceed limit to $597,058. (12-170)
Authorized acceptance of work and final payment to HD Supply under contract 11-23-D, supply 1590 ACSR/TW and 1272 ACSR overhead conductor. All work has been completed and determined to meet bid specifications. (12-171)
Approved HDW Electronics, Inc. as a sole source supplier of a portable fault locator at a cost of $17,550. This unit will interface with the current fault locator and the radar scopes. Other parts will also be interchangeable. (12-172)
Authorized updating the Safety and Health Policy. The District is committed to the prevention of occupational injuries and illnesses. (12-173)
Approved acceptance of work and final payment to Hurst Construction LLC under contract 12-10-W, Peninsula Park swim area improvements. All work has been completed and determined to meet bid specifications. (12-174)
Authorized a professional service agreement with Biomark, Inc., a sole source, for design, construction, testing and installation of half duplex passive integrated transponder tag detection equipment. Necessary for the 2013 lamprey upstream fishway passage studies. This agreement will not exceed $57,463 and will expire December 31, 2013. (12-175)
Approved settlement of quiet title action and acquisition of certain real property from Burlington Northern Railroad Company. Surveys identified nine strips of property adjacent to previously purchased properties that were intended to be included in the original purchases. (12-176)
Opened bids under bid document 12-16-W, expansion of Douglas Switchyard. The apparent low bid of $490,900 was submitted by Aztech Electric of Spokane Valley. The bids will be analyzed by staff prior to the District awarding a contract.
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. October 15, 2012 at the District’s East Wenatchee Headquarters office.
