(Kittitas, WA) At approximately 4:00 PM on August 15th, operations personnel on the Taylor Bridge fire received a report of a possible burn injury on the fireline.  An engine crew was working in the northeast perimeter of the fire, north of the windfarm, when a tree torched.   While attempting to leave the area, their apparatus would not start, and the decision was made to evacuate on foot.

One firefighter sustained minor facial burns and was evaluated on scene by medical personnel, then transported to Kittitas Valley Community Hospital for further evaluation.  Following normal protocol with any agency or disaster situation, Incident Management Team personnel contacted the family of the firefighter advising them of the situation.  The firefighter was treated, released, and is now recovering at home for a few days.  The remaining engine crew members are working on their fire assignment.
