(Wenatchee, WA) Pump up your safety smarts and join the fun “On the Safety Trail,” a free event for families at Rocky Reach Dam on Saturday, June 30th.

Visit with experts from 17 local agencies, all excited to share the inside scoop on activities ranging from backcountry travel to water sports from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rocky Reach Visitor Center. Among those offering tips will be Fishin’ Magician Dave Graybill, U.S. Forest Service staff, Washington State Patrol and the YMCA. Visitors can venture from booth to booth, gathering safety tidbits and tips.

You’ll also meet Sparky the Fire Dog, Cash the Karelian bear dog, Smokey Bear, McGruff the Crime Dog and Seamor the talking sea serpent – who each have their own safety story to tell. Participants can explore the inside of a fire truck, watch electrical safety demonstrations by PUD linemen and “visit” Hazard Hamlet, try a 911 simulator and enjoy a stop at Rocky Reach Visitor Center and café.

Your whole family can learn how to stay safe while doing the things you love – and it’s all free.

Follow the buzz on Twitter at #SafetySmarts.
