SPOKANE, Wash. – Northwest Farm Credit Services is proud to award Grant County Fire District #13 with a $1,500 Rural Community Grant. The grant will be used to purchase a garage door to open an existing building and protect vehicles.
Grant County Fire Chief Shane Heston says, “Please accept our sincere appreciation for providing funding to assist with the purchase and installation of an new overhead apparatus door. The addition of the overhead door will provide for maximum efficiency and speed up the responses of our equipment to emergencies. Currently there are situations that require us to start up and move a fire truck in order to get the needed truck out for response. Often times we are delayed in our response as moving of trucks requires additional time. It is not a viable option to store our equipment outside as this invites theft/sabotage and weather reduces the life of our equipment.”
