In State College tuition continues to rise

(Washington State)  University of Washington and other colleges  have raised tuition  14- 16 percent for in-state undergraduate students.  Tuition and mandatory fees for the 2012-13  at UW will total $12,401 not including food and housing. That’s a $1,564 increase.  Lawmakers OK’d double-digit tuition increases to make up for similar cuts in state dollars going to the university. Washington State University, Central, Evergreen and Western also increased their tuition by 14-16 percent.  If you include food and housing you’re looking at a $2-3000 increase per year.   This does not include the interest for loans to go to school.    Basic state college education for 4 years will now cost about $110-125,000 for 4 years.   In 25 years that’s a 450% increase.     It’s obvious that  tax payers  need to question all  current and future college salaries, pensions , medical benefits  and budgets that the state tax payers gives to these colleges.
