Grand Coulee- Douglas County Deputies received a complaint of a burglary in the area of Strahl Canyon Rd. near Grand Coulee. The complainant reported that unknown persons had stolen a large amount of tools, mechanical equipment, and a car from her residence. That same day investigators received a tip from a concerned citizen regarding the possible whereabouts of the car. A Deputy went to the residence and found the car. The license plates had been switched but the vehicle identification number matched that of the stolen car. A subject identified as 43 year old Gary G. Olsen of Coulee Dam lived on the property and claimed to have found the car on the road. He decided to use it and change the license plates. Olsen was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and booked at the Okanogan County Jail. Deputies applied for and were granted a search warrant for the suspect’s property. With the help of the victims, they were able to recover approximately $45,000 worth of stolen property including tools, air compressors, power tools, batteries, and welders.
