(Quincy, WA) – An elderly local man died Sunday afternoon after apparently drowning in Quincy Lakes.
Around 1:40 p.m., emergency responders were called to the Evergreen Reservoir portion of the Quincy Lakes, about seven miles southwest of Quincy. Bystanders said they heard the elderly man yell out for help, but by the time the bystanders arrived at the reservoir’s edge they could not see him. The man’s body was recovered later by Sheriff’s Search and Rescue divers. There is no indication of foul play.
The body of the victim, a Grant County resident whose age is around 75, is in the custody of the Grant County Coroner, who will rule on cause and manner of death and who will release the man’s name once his family is notified.
“I feel so sad for this man’s family, and I pray they can find peace,” said Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.
