CHELAN – Improvements are on the way for the increasingly busy State Route 150/No See-Um Road intersection – and local residents and drivers are invited to share their thoughts on design options at an open house at the end of the month.

Both options under consideration include moving the intersection to the northwest, connecting Spader Bay Road as a fourth leg of the intersection, and adding either turn lanes or a roundabout.

Public discussion on the benefits and trade-offs of each option will help determine the final design for the intersection. Drivers and residents can share their feedback with Washington State Department of Transportation engineers at an open house on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Chelan City Hall:

• What: SR 150/No See-Um Road intersection improvements
• Where: Chelan City Hall, 135 Johnson Ave. Chelan WA
• When: 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28

Hundreds of drivers will use this intersection to access yet-to-be-developed residential lots. More than 10,000 vehicles per day already use the intersection and are causing longer delays for traffic. In 2012, WSDOT received funding from the Supplemental Transportation Budget to design and develop plans by the summer of 2013 for improvements at the intersection of SR 150/No See-Um Road. There is currently no funding available for construction or to purchase property needed for construction of this project.
