(Cashmere, WA) Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett reports on June 4th, RiverCom Dispatch Center received a 911 telephone call reporting a deceased male at 7000 block of N. Dryden Road in Cashmere, WA.

Investigators have identified Cody Johnson, 28, of Cashmere was found shot to death.  Preliminary investigative results reflect that Johnson received multiple gunshot wounds.

During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered a homemade pipe bomb constructed out of PVC pipe.  The device appeared functional.  The crime scene (a 25 foot RV trailer) and surrounding residents were immediately evacuated.  EOD (bomb squad) from Yakima Army Base were called upon to dispose of the device.

This investigation is considered a homicide and persons of interest are currently being sought out. Anyone with information towards the investigation is encouraged to contact Sgt. Jerry Moore with the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office at 509-667-6840 or the RiverCOM Dispatch Center at 509-663-9911.
