Ruth Esparza to run for Chelan County Superior Court Judge Position 3

(Wenatchee, WA) Attorney and longtime Wenatchee-area resident Ruth Esparza on Thursday announced plans to seek election to judge of Chelan County Superior Court, position 3.

Esparza cited her vested interest in the safety of her community and her commitment to public service as factors motivating her decision. As judge, Esparza’s focus will be to enforce laws that protect the community while observing individual rights.

Esparza moved to the Wenatchee Valley with her family when she was 10. Esparza’s inspiration was her mother, who worked long hours to support the family. Esparza learned a solid work ethic from her mother, who also inspired Esparza and her siblings to seek an education.

Esparza graduated from Westside High School in Wenatchee and later attended Wenatchee Valley College, graduating in 2000. She continued her education at theUniversityofGonzaga, first earning a bachelor’s degree in political science and then a law degree. Her intellectual success and hard work have earned her the prestigious West Side High School 2005 Alumni Award and Wenatchee Valley College 2011 Alumni Award.  Esparza is also a graduate of the esteemed Washington State Bar Association’s Leadership Institute.

Esparza is a staff attorney for the Wenatchee office of the Northwest Justice Project, where she has worked since 2005. As an NJP attorney, Esparza’s practice includes family law, housing law and has litigated complex civil matters.

Esparza’s dedication to her community is reflected in her involvement with various local service groups. She belongs to the Wenatchee Rotary Club and is a member of the boards of directors for theUnited Wayof Chelan andDouglasCounties, Chelan Douglas County Volunteer Attorney Services, and the Wenatchee Community Center Advisory Committee. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones, traveling, watching sporting events, and enjoying the outdoors.

 

As judge, Esparza not only will bring extensive experience, she will bring integrity, professionalism, compassion, common sense and good judgment. She has energy and enthusiasm to work hard to safeguard the ideals of fairness and impartiality for all who come before her.
