SEATTLE – The SR 99 Tunnel Project’s Advisory Committee on Tolling and Traffic Management meets tomorrow to learn about preliminary traffic modeling results based on three potential toll scenarios that the committee discussed in April.

These toll scenarios were developed to test how traffic responds to different toll rates. Additional toll scenarios will be tested later this year.

The meeting is 2-5 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, in the Sound Transit board room at Union Station, 401 S. Jackson St. in Seattle. The advisory committee, created by the city of Seattle in an agreement with the Washington State Department of Transportation, will prepare its initial tolling recommendations later this year. The committee is charged with exploring ways to reduce traffic diversion due to tunnel tolls and meet the project’s funding goals.

The public is welcome to attend committee meetings to view the information presented and submit written comments. Committee materials are available at www.alaskanwayviaduct.org/ following each meeting.
