(Mosesl Lake, WA) — Grant County sheriff’s deputies, Moses Lake police officers and members of the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team (TRT) came together Sunday April 21 to arrest a man on a variety of domestic violence-related charges.
Christopher Lee Helgeson, 31, of Moses Lake is lodged in the Grant County Jail for investigation of second degree assault (domestic violence), first degree unlawful possession of a firearm, harassment threats to kill, domestic violence), and fourth degree assault (domestic violence).
The arrest was the result of a domestic violence investigation which started the previous day, April 20. Moses Lake police officers and Grant County deputies interviewed the victim who showed obvious signs of injuries allegedly caused by Helgeson.
Investigators also found out Helgeson was a convicted felon and may have firearms. Based on all the pieces of information, the TRT responded to serve the warrant for Helgeson’s arrest. Helgeson came out of the home peacefully and was arrested.
Investigators then searched the home in the 2500 block of Elgin Road Northeast, finding ammunition and ammo magazines for guns. Since Helgeson is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess such items, the illegal firearms possession charges were added.
“This was a great piece of investigative teamwork by deputies and Moses Lake police,” said Sheriff Tom Jones. “Grant County law enforcement officers treat domestic violence as the serious crime that it is, and I am proud of everyone involved for their hard work.”
