Thomas Jack Pace, “Jack”, 79, a lifelong Wenatchee Valley resident, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Central Washington Hospital, following an extended illness.
He was born on August 18, 1932 at Cashmere, Washington to the late Tom Willis and Alta May (Alexander) Pace. He was raised and attended school in Cashmere and graduated from Cashmere High School with the class on 1950. He went to work at the Shmitten Lumber Company in Cashmere and worked there for the next several years.
He met Carol Leah Fogelstrom of Cashmere and they were later married on February February 22, 1952 in Wenatchee. They made their home together in Cashmere.
Jack went to work at Alcoa in 1963 and became Head Caster. In 1975, Jack started his second job; he and Carol started their own business in Cashmere, known as Jack’s Greenhouse. Together they operated their greenhouse business until 1985. Jack retired from Alcoa on April 1, 1994. They moved to make their home in East Wenatchee in 1999.
He was a member of the Eastmont Baptist Church in East Wenatchee. He was a true people person and enjoyed visiting with people. He was known for his love of cherries especially Rainier’s and food.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol L. Pace, East Wenatchee; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary & Sharon Pace, Lakewood, WA; two daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia & Elmer Presler, East Wenatchee and Barbara Pace and her companion, Ron Lund both of Spokane; six grandchildren, Erin Reiber, East Wenatchee, Kristi Wolf, Monitor, Steven Pace, Lakewood, WA, Kelly Cowin, East Wenatchee, Jessica Ross, Victoria, B.C. Canada and Justin Presler, Spokane and four great grandchildren, Carson Reiber and Isabella Reiber both of East Wenatchee, Madelin Ross, Victoria, B.C. Canada, Jayden Pace, Lakewood, WA and Dylan Wolf, Monitor. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Carl and Larry Pace.
