Unconscious Rock Island teen dies after unsuccessful resuscitation on Friday

(Rock Island, WA) On November 10th at approximately 12:20 AM Douglas County Deputies responded with medical personnel to the 10 Blk. of Delaware in Rock Island to a report of an unconscious person.  The responding Deputy and rescue personnel commenced CPR on the subject.

At approximately 1:15 AM the  medical team ended resuscitation efforts and the victim was pronounced deceased. The victim was 18 years old and the cause of death was not immediately apparent.   The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded with additional detectives to investigate the incident.  The victim was identified as 18 year old Jonathan L. Gildersleeve of Rock Island.  The decedent was transported to Central Washington Hospital pending an autopsy.
