(Cle Elum, WA) The Washington State Patrol is asking for the public’s help in providing information on the events leading up to a tragic fatality motorcycle collision that occurred on Monday September 10, 2012 on Interstate 90 approximately 3 miles east of Cle Elum in Kittitas County.
The collision occurred at approximately 4:17 p.m. on westbound I-90 west of the Indian John Rest Area at Milepost 88.5. This collision claimed the life of a motorcycle rider traveling in a group of three (3) motorcycles. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that there was another vehicle that was involved in or witnessed the collision. This vehicle is described as a silver minivan traveling westbound behind the group of motorcycles. The minivan passed the group using the right lane and was changing lanes to the left when the crash happened. The minivan pulled to the right shoulder after the crash then left the scene.
Detectives are seeking anyone who witnessed this collision, may have seen any of the events prior to and leading up to the collision, or has any information regarding this case.
