(Wenatchee, WA) The authors of the new pictorial history book Wenatchee will describe the research and writing process, then sign copies of the book at a free event on Saturday, July 7, between 1 and 3pm at the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center.
Museum staff members Chris Rader and Mark Behler created the book as part of Arcadia Publishing Company’s “Images of America” series. They selected hundreds of historical photographs from the museum’s collection, writing extensive captions and chapter introductions to anchor the images in time and place.
“The book encapsulates Wenatchee history from the time of Chief Moses to the 1974 Appleyard explosion,” Rader said. “Of course we couldn’t include everything, but a lot of the community’s important people, places and events are depicted through these great photographs.”
The book is now on sale in the Museum Store and other outlets in the Wenatchee Valley. The museum is located at 127 South Mission Street. For more information call (509) 888-6240.
