Expect the two eastbound lanes to be closed and traffic shifted to one lane in each direction in the two westbound lanes where crews are clearing and scaling the unstable slopes above the highway. Two way traffic is planned to be maintained at all times.
In this $5.5 million project, MidWest Rockfall Inc. crews will clear, scale, rock bolt and hang steel netting to reduce rock fall from four unstable slopes west of Stevens Pass. Two will be stabilized this summer and two, next summer. Work began May 9 and will continue until winter shut down.
